BOOKS, EVENTS AND MORE (BEAM) – WEEK OF 4/11/22

We want to say thank you to everyone that attended the Health is Wealth Community Fair on Saturday 4/9/22. There was a great turnout, at least 500 attendees. Escape Velocity was able to giveaway over 400 books (children and adults), 150 Literal Influence journals, 300 Health is Wealth wristbands and other resources about our programs, college, and Healthy Black Families Collaborative (HBFC).

We want to thank the Ricardo of Sacramento Public Library for the donation of the children’s books and Valley Hi Family Resource Center for the adult books to help in our book giveaway.

Thank you to our book club parent Ms. Bernadette and Boys in the Hood Book Club member, Tyree, for coming out and volunteering. We appreciate it!! Also thanks to the HBFC Ambassadors, Astrid and Valencia!

The Health Education Counsel and Valley Hi Family Resource Center hosted an amazing event!! Escape Velocity enjoyed participating in the Planning Committee as a Live Well South Sacramento partner.
