#Sactownyouthnights

The Escape Velocity / Sojo Museum #SacTownYouthNights is a catalyst for youth ages 12 to 24 and their families to have a safe space to hang out on 1st and 3rd Friday nights from 6pm-9pm at Florin Square, 2251 Florin Rd, Sacramento, CA 95822, while enjoying a wide range of exciting activities in a positive environment.

Youth will have an opportunity to network and get to know each other, all while engaging in fun filled activities. Each event will have FREE food, games, workshops, entertainment, resources, literacy, art and activities for the youth and their families and more. All are welcome!! There will be a game truck and photo booths for Oct 7th and 21st.

Attend the Transportation Literacy Workshops on Oct 7th (7pm-8pm) and Oct 21st (7pm-7:30pm) and receive a free one-time $60 Connect card. One per person. Flyer is below. Register to save your space by emailing sojomuseum@gmail.com

Around the Way Girls had a great time meeting Ms Black USA last week and we are so grateful for her pouring into our girls. 

Boys in the Hood Book Club had the pleasure of local entrepreneur Joshua Robinson talking to them about being “Builders” of themselves. Giving them tips on how to go from a boy to a man. He gave them a daily challenge to help them improve their self-confidence and give them self-empowerment/self-love.

mental Health & wellness

student mental health and wellness collaborative

The Sacramento County Office of Education and Sacramento County Department of Health Services, Division of Behavioral Health Services will be hosting our Student Mental Health and Wellness Collaborative. There will be an opportunity to attend four meetings (First Wednesday of the month starting October 5th) throughout this school year to collaborate with stakeholders throughout Sacramento County, share resources and best practices, discuss common challenges and develop strategies to address barriers to student mental health and wellness in alignment with our new Sacramento County Student Mental Health and Wellness Plan.
