pizza party
We celebrated the youth with a pizza party to congratulate them on doing such a great job in the month of April for Financial Literacy Month. It was a blast. They had pizza, drinks, snacks and we gave out two free books donated by the Sacramento Public Library and each youth was able to select a free financial literacy book. The top leader of the online financial literacy platform from the girls and boys book clubs received a gift of financial literacy flash cards as well. Way to go to our youth!! Thank you to our guest speakers, parents, and supporters!

C.R.I.S.E.S. Grant Pilot Program
In accordance with Assembly Bill 118 (Chapter 694, Statutes of 2021), the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) will administer $10 million for grant-making to community-based organizations for emergency response pilots, to lessen the reliance on law enforcement agencies as first responders to crisis situations unrelated to a fire department or emergency medical service response.
CDSS anticipates a competitive funding process for awarding grants, with all grants awarded prior to January 1, 2023.
Stakeholder Workgroup
As part of the implementation of the C.R.I.S.E.S. grant pilot program, CDSS will also convene a stakeholder workgroup to make recommendations to CDSS. The workgroup shall do the following:
- Provide input regarding criteria for qualified grantees.
- Provide best practices and program recommendations.
- Provide consultation on implementation and priorities for technical assistance.
