Dana Maeshia Small Business Award

Florin Square Community Development Corporation (FSCDC) is hosting the 2nd Annual Small Business Success Summit (SBSS) on July 30, 2022. In efforts to support existing and aspiring small business owners, the FSCOC is issuing its first “Dana Maeshia Small Business Award” in the amount of $500.

Theme – Resiliency

All applications should be submitted to Desirae Fox at desiraefox04@gmail.com no later than Monday July 11 at 11:59 PM. The grant will be provided to the chosen recipient at the Small Business Success Summit, located at 2251 Florin Road, Sacramento, CA 95822.

â–º Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrates resilient work ethic despite challenges, and
  • Uses networking skills to enhance their business’s viability, and
  • Has a well-developed business plan that makes their business competitive.

â–º Application Requirements:

  • Evidence of an existing or proposed business in one of the following forms:
    • Evidence of an existing incorporated small business, or
    • A detailed business plan, or 
    • Location of an active website or social media pages demonstrating business activity.
•AND•
 
  • A coversheet with a short biography.
  • 200 word essay detailing your scope of business, and challenges that you have faced in maintaining your business or getting the business off the ground.
  • Get creative!  (pictures, videos, testimonials, etc.).
  • Evidence of associated business activity in the last 30 days.
  • Evidence of a purchased ticket for the 2nd Annual Small Business Success Summit on 7/30/2022 at
    Florin Square. Tickets for the SBSS can be found on Eventbrite.com.
